NPP Supporters In Offinso Summoned For Performing Rituals In River Offin



The Offinso Traditional Council have summoned some supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) for performing rituals in the River Offin.

The angry protestors and supporters of the ruling party who took to the streets of Offin after it was announced that some two aspirants for the parliamentary race have been disqualified.

The aggrieved supporters want its' leaders to allow the candidates to contest the sitting Member of Parliament, Abdallah Bandah, so as to guarantee peace in the district.

Responding to the situation, the Offinso Traditional Council said the action by the NPP supporters was ‘unwarranted’ and ‘needless’. The council also denounced allegations that the Paramount Chief of Offinso, Nana Wiafe Akenten authorized the act.
